Do Not Accept Invitations for Dinner At My Home

Image
Cooper and I went for an afternoon visit to the 17th St Dog Park. He romped, chased, and play fought to his body and heart's delight. I lost a sense of time.  I'd forgotten the slices of Sweet Potatoes which I'd left (on low heat) to bake whilst we were out and about. The sweet Potato slices were turned into inedible (I tried)  charcoal  by the time we returned home. The Baking dish needs help. I'll render First Aid when I get home from my 7:15 a.m. appointment with my Eye Doctor Han Eye Doctor Sarasota | Dr. Scott B. Han | The Eye Associates

Cooper Update

Image
The Vet is of the opinion that the source of Cooper's renewed seizures are internal , not environmental     Cooper will be on a stronger anti-seizure medication (Gabapentin 600 mg) twice daily.   Even as the use of Gabapentin proceeds (plus or minus)  I will also seek  a consultation with a Canine Neurologist   (I have Pet insurance!)   jmp

How very odd.  One of the sweet (candy) choices of my childhood were JELLY BABIES.    Just imagine it: buying and eating a sweet made (more or less) in the shape of a baby. Dad would say " Ask for boys and you'll get more",  It took me an age before I understood his humour. I plan to make Ambrosia as a Thanksgiving dessert and may add some cut up Jelly Babies to add sweetness to an already sweet dessert,

A friend Who Wants to Drive for me: and Hug Me

Image
Cooper takes control of the driver's seat if I have to leave him in the car for a few minutes (with windows cranked down a bit, and A/C  on) CONTROL   It's my task to shove him off my seat and into his. D'ya think that works? NOT A CHANCE I may have seized the Drivers's seat but Mr. Cooper won't give up. He comes to my side for yet one cuddle before I drive home.

Enhancing my Body

I had my left ear pierced this morning.  The needle was all but painless.  Sadly there was a dismal selection of earrings.

Deary Me in Morning. REVISED VERSION (What Day Is It?)

Image
After our early morning 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 am wa lks, with visits to two dog parks, Cooper and I returned home. I gave good Cooper his breakfast, then I returned to my bed for a nap. I was awakened when the phone rang at 8:50 a.m.. I uttered a soft imprecation thinking that I had forgotten an 8:45 appointment for yet more MOHS surgery.   The voice mail reminded me that my appointment is on Monday of this week, not Sunday.   I need a Day of the Week Clock.

Let This Be Our Secret

Image
I pulled my stove out tonight under the suspicion that COOPER had pushed a wooden chopping board underneath, after having licked clear the traces of chicken. I was right . I'd not imagined such a remnant mess!    Shhh!

It's Cold I need a blanket .COOPER 3:00 a.m 15th Nov 2025

Matters of Furniture

Image
Some will remember that my recliner collapsed under me in the dark of the night. I purchased it at the Sarasota store of Matter Brothers. It collapsed under me about ten nights ago. After one dead end (because I'd received an incorrect 'phone# from the Matters Sun City office).  I was told that the number was incorrect when I visited the store on Clark Rd SRQ this afternoon. I was given the correct number That being sorted I was "chuffed" to learn that the recliner will be repaired under  warranty next week. Matter Bros. is, let's say, pricey. Their customer service is a bargain.

The Holy One; G-d; The great Spirit. FIRE AND CLOUD

Image
Exodus 13 tells us that G-d's people were led by cloud and fire. H'mmm   It's not possible for fire, or for cloud to be contained in a box. The Holy One cannot be boxed however that box is named:  - Tanach, Quaran, or New Testament, (&c). Describing and experiencing G-d as The Great Spirit may be a fruitful start and continuing our journeys through the wildernesses of our lives'

DO YOU HAVE PROTECTION? An older prayer may help.

Image
My pain killer; prescription meds., and vitamin 3+; all lined up on the porch table where I eat.  Lined up for protection of course: Protection from " Ghouiles, and Ghosties, and Long Legged Beasties, and things which go bump in the night"    S ource unclear.  Maybe a litany for children as the C of E reformed itself

A cheerful encounter Laughter at both ends of a 'phone connection.

L augh and Enjoy with me! A few minutes ago I called my Vascular Doctor's office to change the dates and times of two appointments. (I'd had no success with a computer programme which should have done the job for me.) .. Back to a few moments ago - I talked with a person. She was most helpful. We got the job done THEN I said " are you the woman I very much like. You have blond hair and work with others to schedule?" She laughed out loud. She knew that I recognized her voice even though I did not know her name. My reference to her hair also brought forth her laughter.

Collapsed under the weight of ..... responsibility

Image
It's been my custom to sleep in a recliner.  It has  helped with my night breathing ........   until now. Tired with the weight of responsibility it committed Hari kari in the middle of last night. My friend Joe thinks that it looks like a worn catcher's mitt. Maybe it can be repaired, or perhaps I need a new one.

Zion's Jacaranda and the future

Image
Sixten months ago, we planted an infant Jacaranda in remembrance of my gorgeous Zion                     In St. Petersburg visiting friends Ron and Char Everyone loved Zion.  Yes everyone. His memory is a blessing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some may remember the tree had lower foliage.   We came to realise that it was spawned by two suckers.  Gardeners will know that suckers are so called because they suck (or steal) nutrients intended for the welfare of the main trunk. Given time and toil Zion's tree should look like this It's just down the road from my house.  What a joy to see every day.                        ABUNDANCE IN AUTUMN! It's more than likely that I'll not live long enough to see Zion's Jacaranda in all its fullness. I didn't plant it for me alone. Future generations will be awed by its glory....

Rack of Lamb for my Dinner. (Vegetables will follow)
