His Name is Connor (I forget his surname)

I ran over a kerb stone yesterday afternoon as I drove into a gas station/convenience store., and flattened the tire on the front passenger side

Of course I have a mobile 'phone and AAA membership. But what's the use of a mobile 'phone if you leave it at home.

Up drew Connor to offer help.  Connor M.D. I should say, for he is a thirty something psychiatrist.

Without fuss or bother, he took the bad tire off and replaced it with the spare.  On a blazing hot afternoon.

He refused to give me his business card so that I could make a gift to his favourite charity in his honour.

Connor is a member of a Baptist Church in Lakewood Ranch.  With that in mind I offered prayer before he drove off.  I will send that Church a gift in gratitude for Connor's ministry.

I have been glowing ever since.    In our bitterly divided U.S.A. a liberal Anglican and conservative Baptist had "the fellowship of a damaged Tire"
