  Oh my goodness.  I received a parking citation today. Here is what will happen if I do not pay the fine   This is the time scale for payment, Excuse my feet! I'll be sure to pay it in person soon after 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday. I took a risk this morning when I parked on Hillview St. for an appointment with my Cardiologist. I knew that I was in a no parking spot. BOO I'll be sure to pay the fine soon after 8:00 on Wednesday morning. I will not wait until my birthday. P.S.     I was on time for my appointment; my cardiologist was thirty minutes late.  Had he been on time I would not have been fined.  I would have been out of the building before the parking czar was on the street, Oh YEAH ?

 Gooseberries can be grown in many parts of north America, but I've yet to have seen them grown in a back yard garden, as one would in the U.K. I could wax eloquent about them; especially the ones which are sweet, pink ; and as big as a plum. I was happy to buy these Welsh grown Goosegogs, rendered into preserves; and bought in a local British Foods Store.  AH BLISS! I shall have them on toast for breakfast tomorrow (with the toast first buttered in Irish Butter).  

  First from my home to the Bayshore Pet resort for Cooper's day care. From there to All Angel's by the Sea Episcopal Church on Longboat Key for a Funeral. Then to my Doctor's Office at the SMH complex on Rand Blvd/Clark Rd  for SEMI ANNUAL CHECK UP with entirely positive reports.  My Personal Carr Physician is meticulous.  She cuts no corners. That being done I had a ten mile drive in heavy traffic to get Cooper  -   he was  overjoyed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Cooper was in day care because the outside of my villa in the Condo complex was to be spray washed -  a three hour job.  If Mr C. had been in the home he would have barked incessantly. 'Twas an unusually busy day for me, all well and good except for the urban driving.   I know now that I will never work for UBER!                                 ...

 

  Cooper's Annual Health check-up, at the superb ELLENTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL. Urine, Feces, Blood checked.  Thorough examination. Mr C  came out with the verdict of excellent all-round health   (Better than his old man)   The Bill  -   $300,  WHAT? DON'T FRET    That works out as less than a dollar a day!

  Fairfield Grammar School was a secondary school in Bristol, England, founded in 1898 as Fairfield Secondary and Higher Grade School.    I received a (computer generated?) voice mail from the office of my Primary Care Physician. See this:                            What the dickens? As the machine requested, I called back as soon as possible   I spoke to a human being who confirmed that if I did not cough up at least 1/3 of $5 I would be placed on the bad debtor's list, and would not receive treatment .                                        What the blazes?   Could my credit rating be downgraded?   Would my PCP  (of twenty years) ditch me? As it happens I have an appointment with my Primary Care Physician on Monday.   I am tempted to present her with a Five Dollar bill cut into thirds to clear the debt.   Some will remember that I customarily leave the opening of Christmas cards until 25th December. In 2025 I sent them aside in a neat pile and then forgot the cards until yesterday, 15th March 2026 I had a festival of card opening and reading. A festival of delicious memories. BUT WAIT   if we set aside December 24/5 as his birthday should we not also celebrate his conception.   I awoke to the sound of small tables being overturned; and to the sound of Cooper as he "paddled" on the floor.   Oh no, another seizure after weeks of freedom.  Fortunately such seizures are not debilitating.  Cooper rolled over and slept. But why the seizure?  "Blame?" the label on his anti-seizure medicine. It stated, "no more refills".     I read that to believe that the med (Gabapentin) had a buildup effect, so I'd not administered it for a while.   I was wrong. I called Cooper's Vet before 8:00.   Soon after 8:00 the good people at Ellenton Animal Hospital 'phoned to say that Cooper's new scrip was ready. By 9:00 the meds were in my hands  (after Cooper had showed off to the staff). The new scrip is good until the end of this year. Phew for Cooper and for  me, Alleluia for a superb Veterinary practice. My boy keeps an eye at me at all times.

================================================= THE LPN SAID ........  HOW IS COOPER ?    not "How are You"   THE BURLY FIREFIGHTER APPROACHED MY CAR at the intersection of Beneva and Bee Ridge. I reached for a Five Dollar Bill and gave it to him for a Firefighter's Benevolent fund. He responded with  GREAT DOG! I WENT INTO the Pet Supply store on Beneva and Webber.  A shop clerk saw me as I got out of the car.  As I entered she had already placed three cans of Cooper's Digestive Care food on the counter. THAT DOG HAS FRIENDS! A BIT ABOUT HIM. He was born in Wauchula, a small town fifty or so miles north east of Sarasota.  Unusually, his adoption papers note his date of birth: March 20th 2022.   ( Wauchula  is a city and the  county seat  of  Hardee County, Florida , United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 4,900.) Cooper was surrendered to the Humane Society of Sarasota County on May 22nd 2024...

  She came alongside me as I paid for my purchase. She was ordering some specialty Bacon The Clerk asked for her phone number. The customer started with 617 When she ended, I said "that's a wicked good number"  She enjoyed my humour.
